Have you ever felt a stirring in your spirit- like God is nudging you towards something new? Maybe its a blog. Maybe its a journal. Maybe its a full blown business idea. But you keep asking, “Can i really do this as a Christian women?” If you have ever asked yourself that, this post is for you. The answer to your question is yes, you can do this. Because here is the truth, business isn’t just for the world, God can use it as ministry.
Why would a Christian woman start a business? Business isn’t just about making money, it is about :
- Stewarding your gifts
- Reaching people you are called to
- Creating impact that glorifies God
Here’s why it might be part of your purpose:
- Business can be a form of Ministry
You don’t have to preach from a pulpit to change lives. And lets be honest, a lot of people who need to know Jesus are not in church yet. They are in the grocery stores we shop at. Or the shopping malls we go to, and some of them are even be at our workplace.
A blog, a podcast, a product, a devotional…….all of these can carry your testimony. Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
2. You are called to multiply.
God wants us all to multiply, and i don’t believe he means just in offspring. He means in our fruit and our impact on the world. Change one live you change the world. We are called to help others, and share the good news. The good news is God’s word. Fulfilling our purpose can bring not just change to one life, but the generations that come from that life too.
If you’ve been given an idea, a gift, or a testimony… you’re meant to share it.
3. Financial Freedom can Fund Kingdom Work
Wealth isn’t evil, but the love of money is the root of all evil. There are a lot of people out there who donate to help fund the work of the kingdom. We are not made aware these people. That follows the scripture, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing ( Matthew 6:2-5). These are the people who help fund the missions. The find help support ministries like Joyce Meyers Ministries and other ministries. This helps them so they can go out and do the work of the Kingdom.
Financial freedom for you and your family is another advantage of starting your own business. The opportunities are there to take your family on a trip to make memories. Or buying a rental property, or paying off your debt. The opportunities are endless, as long as you listen and follow the holy spirit. If God put it in your heart, that may just be the purpose he has called you to. Its okay to be nervous about starting your own business. I was when I decided to start this blog and sell digital and physical products. I was very nervous, and at times I still am. I just take it one day at a time. I have small children and a full time job, so I do my best to work my business daily. Even if it is just a small task, every small consistent task still moves you forward in your business.
Another benefit is being able to support other women’s growth. Empowering each other and coming together for a greater purpose. We are not called to make uku bucks of money (Uku bucks is a lot of $). We as God’s people are called to share our faith. We are also called to share our testimonies to help others. Some of us are called to start businesses to honor God. We all have our roles to play.
4. Its A Way to take Your Healing and Turn It Into Help.
Have you overcome trauma, fear, addiction, confusion, or shame? I have had to overcome all. I still struggle with fear. Confusion can also be a challenge at times. But God works it all out for my good. (Romans 8:28 ) What if the very thing that God brought you out of, you could use for good? Imagine helping someone else through your testimony.
This is not a push to start your own business, but an invitation to pray on it. If you feel led, then take the next step. God will lead the way if we give it ALL to him. Get in your secret place. Pray over it, and listen for his voice. God works in mysterious but amazing ways.
I started this blog because I felt God’s voice telling me to do so. I also began my digital business for the same reason. If I’m honest his voice was calling me to do this for a while, I just didn’t listen at first. I was fearful. Honestly, I also tried a blog 4 or 5 years ago. However, life got in the way. My fear of failure and fear of success held me back. I never really gave it the opportunity to succeed. I also tried a lead generation business. That one was not led by God. It was more my own desire. The job I was in was too stressful for me, and I felt like I was cracking. We had just bought our home in Hawaii. Our mortgage was high, along with our other bills. I didn’t think that quitting was an option. And i did not pray on it and wait on God like how I should have.
That is why its so important to listen to the holy spirit. I look back and see that when i was busy doing life on my own I was not getting anywhere. My business did not succeed and i was stressed and burned out. I was not relying on God and the holy spirit for guidance. I am very glad that the holy spirit brought this to my attention. I shifted my focus to our good good Father and seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness.
If you feel led to start your own business, here are some resources to help you. I was a beginner and didn’t know anything about online business. I wanted to know more, so I chose a course. When I first bought it, it was an MRR or Master Resell Rights course. This meant you could sell it and keep all the profit. Now, it is an affiliate course. That course is called Roadmap Exclusive. As a beginner I learned alot from this course. This is more for the beginner who doesn’t know anything about business. About a year later i bought another course called DBA or Digital Boss Academy. This is more of a branding course. If you have any questions about either or both, please ask. I would be more than happy to help with what I can. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to say yes to the seed God is planting in your heart. Love ya sis!
