The Importance of Integrity in All Areas of Business

Integrity- now thats a powerful word, but I feel like in this day and age, with all the businesses that have popped up on social media within the last few years, I feel like integrity is lacking. What i mean is, it seems like the lines have gotten blurred on what integrity is. Integrity is…

Integrity- now thats a powerful word, but I feel like in this day and age, with all the businesses that have popped up on social media within the last few years, I feel like integrity is lacking. What i mean is, it seems like the lines have gotten blurred on what integrity is. Integrity is defined as the quality of being honesty and having strong moral principles . In any relationship whether business or personal I only want to be around people who have integrity. I want to be able to trust the people that i am around or spend most of my time with on a daily basis.

I have an online business and i sell digital products as well as physical products. I help women grow in their relationship with God, and also help them start their own God led businesses if that is something they feel led to do. As with any business you have to promote your products and or services, and social media can be a great place to do it, but as i was looking through it to get ideas on how to market my business, I began to feel so uncomfortable trying to promote my business on there because a lot of people trying to promote their products or services don’t always promote with integrity. When i go on instagram or tik tok, I see so much people promoting the 2 hours a day reels or posts about how easy it easy to start and run your own business, which as most business owners know, its not the real picture because running your own business is alot of work at first, and it will take you more than 1-2 hours a day, depending on what your niche is, and what services you offer. To me those post lack honesty. I would rather someone be honest and truthful with me, rather than someone trying to hook me which seems like what social media is all about. I get it, you only have a few seconds to hook them, but with all the spammy info on social media you really need to rely on the holy spirit to tell you what is truth and what is not. Those types of promoting are full of misleading information, and I don’t like being misled, do you?

With the growth of all the businesses out there on social media, I feel like social media can be a great place to promote and grow a business, but you also have to be aware and able to differentiate between all the fluff, and be original so that you can stand out. Now there are other ways to promote your business as well, and with God by your side leading you, if you give your business to God, he will bring the people. For me, as a beginner in my business i get lost by all the info that they have for new businesses, and some say do this but others say don’t do this. Then you have some who just want to sell you a course or a few courses but you don’t really know if you need them, or how they can benefit you, and if your not careful you can end up with a course that does not serve you.

I should know, I have bought 4 courses in the past, but i can only promote 2 honestly, because i believe in those businesses and the people behind them. The other 2 courses i bought i feel like its too spammy and lacking of integrity, meaning the woman in the course is in the make money on line niche, and she talks alot about income and she also uses the 2 hour a day claims. Since i am a women trying to build my blog and promote it with integrity, I realized that her course was not for me. I don’t like that approach because I feel like it is false information that you are trying to feed people just to have them buy your course and i dont like that.

Now this is just my opinion of what I see on social media, and others may have a different opinion on this topic, which is fine because God gave us all a brain so that we can think for ourselves. However, he also gave us his holy spirit for guidance, and I am not sure if everyone uses it like they should. I myself have gotten caught up in not following the holy spirit while on social media doing research for my business and I just ended up getting lost and started to have comparison syndrome which just made me sad and depressed because i was looking at someones 120 days of business, and trying to compare it to my day 10. Not something that I need to do because it just puts stress on me.

I know everything can and is a learning experience, as long as we are open to it. And in the case of social media i am learning that trying to run an online business and promote it on social media is a learning experience for me, and I am also realizing that trying to learn instagram or tik tok is not the best thing for my business right now, and I am okay with that. About a year ago i felt like the only way that I could grow was on tik tok or instagram, and then i got stuck in that trap of trying to post content for 30 days, but sometimes i had no idea what to post and it just didn’t end up working for me, but now i know that with God running my business, if he wants it to grow he will make it grow. Just like he will bring me the customers at the right time.

Now I do want to learn to promote on social media, but I need to find the best platform for me, and i need to learn to not think so much about it. Overthinking is one of the killers to any business and has kept me stuck in my mind for some time now. But today is a new day and God is working in me, and he is working in you too. I just had a meeting with God last night and asked him to help me and guide me while I run this business, which I surrender to him and let him have his way in my business.

With that being said I just wanted to shed some light on the topic of integrity, and how we especially as Christians have to do what is right because we live in the world, but we are not of the world. In this world people like the glitz and sparkly things of this world, and sometimes they don’t care how they get it. Even as a Christian the lines can be blurred anytime we are not spending time in his presence. When we get into our secret place with God and let him shape and mold us in ALL areas, when we are given an opportunity to do the right thing, or the wrong thing, we are much stronger to saying No to the wrong thing, and Yes to the right thing. Remember, everything that glitters isn’t Gold, and we are called to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. We are his vessels and God can and will work in us and through us if we let him. Now happy creating friends!

What i mean by that is
